Thousands of miles west of mainland United States you'll find the legendary paniolo - the cowboys of Hawaii. What began with a gift of a few cows and a bull to the King in the 1700s has grown into a ranch community that's passed down their hunting, cowboying, and fishing styles for generations. YETI Ambassador Chris Malloy visits the Big Island to learn from the legends.

Like many American outsider-adventurers, Dorian "Doc" Paskowitz set out to realize a utopian dream. Abandoning a successful medical practice, he sought self-fulfillment by taking up the nomadic life of a surfer. But unlike other American searchers like Thoreau or Kerouac, Paskowitz took his wife and nine children along for the ride, all eleven of them living in a 24 foot camper. Together, they lived a life that would be unfathomable to most, but enviable to anyone who ever relinquished their dreams to a straight job. The Paskowitz Family proved that America may be running out of frontiers, but it hasn't run out of frontiersman. "Most parents say 'Go to school. Don't go swimming with sharks, that's dangerous. Our parents said, you can go swimming with sharks, but you're not fuckin' going to school—that shit's dangerous!" - Salvador Paskowitz, the 7th Paskowitz son
Documenting the talents of amazing people who happen to surf. Iconic surfer Rob Machado has traveled the world for more than half his life. And during that time, he's crossed paths with countless individuals who share a love for surfing and a passion for the arts. In his new series called Through The Lens, we meet these individuals and follow Rob as he re-connects with the people who've inspired him along the way. In this episode, Rob travels to the Big Island of Hawaii to meet up with famed native Hawaiian designer Sig Zane. The cultural significance of Sig's work is profound, connecting past to present by perpetuating the technique of hand-made illustration. While together, Sig and Rob collaborated on an original design, which reveals the magic in Sig's design process.
